IEC and EN 61643-311:2013 are the standards that define performance requirements and test circuits for gas discharge tubes. The TÜV approval demonstrates that the gas discharge tubes of THINKING comply with international safety and performance standards, delivering outstanding product reliability. In addition to the existing UL certification, the newly obtained approval further supports customers' regulatory compliance needs for GDTs and enables them to diversify their product portfolios and capture regional market opportunities.
The two-electrode type gas discharge tubes that comply with the IEC and EN standards are available in dimensions of Φ5.5mm x 6mm, Φ8mm x 6mm, Φ8mm x 7.9mm, and Φ8mm x 8mm. Maximum operating temperature options include 105°C for the GD52R, GD82R, GD82R-U, and GC82R Series, and 125°C for the GRC2R Series to meet different circuit design requirements. These TÜV-certified GDT products provide 8/20μs surge current ratings from 1.5kA to 20kA, and their DC spark-over voltage ranges are listed below:
