THINKING launches high surge type varistor, TVR-U series. This compact product is recommended for electronics products requiring high surge protection but with limited installation space.

Body sizes of TVR-U series are Ф10mm and Ф14mm, and their 8/20μs high surge current (Imax) are 6,000A and 10,000A, respectively. Max. continuous voltage of the components ranges from 150Vac~680Vac (200Vdc~895Vdc). The aforementioned information indicates that electrical performances of Ф10mm and Ф14mm components are equivalent to Ф14mm and Ф20mm varistors in the market. Therefore, Ф10mm component reduces 30% installation space, and space reduction of Ф14mm product is 45%. In addition, operating temperature of most varistors is 105℃. TVR-U series goes beyond this limit and is able to operate under 125℃ environment because of its adoption of new generation coating material.
