THINKING Introduces the MOV and GDT Integrated Over-Voltage Protector

THINKING introduces the new TVG series, an over-voltage protection component that integrates metal oxide varistor (MOV) and gas discharge tube (GDT) technologies in a standalone radial-leaded package. The TVG Series protector leverages the strengths of MOV and GDT to offer higher surge current withstand capability, minimal current leakages, low capacitance, reduced power consumption, and longer service life, providing more advanced over-voltage protection than conventional radial leaded MOV devices.

The max. continuous voltage of the components ranges from 150Vac to 550Vac and from 200Vdc to 745 Vdc. Offering 8/20μs maximum surge current ratings (Imax) of up to 6,000A and 10,000A, the TVG series provides excellent surge withstand capability in the compact sizes of Ф10mm andФ14mm. Furthermore, the protector can operate at temperatures of up to 125℃, surpassing the typical 105°C rating of most MOVs, and is well-suited for equipment operating in harsh environments.
